Threads of Memory explores family history and the traces we leave behind. Using photography and alternative processes such as cyanotype and platinum-palladium, I create images that are extended through stitching, texture, and hand coloring. Many of these works begin with family photographs, familiar objects, and the quiet rituals of everyday life. Some center on my mother, Jeanne, particularly in her later years, when arranging personal objects, holding familiar things, or sitting near a window became small moments of presence. Photographing these gestures became a way of honoring both her fragility and her resilience.I am interested in how memory moves through generations and lives not only in photographs, but in cloth, thread, handwriting, objects, and the gestures of hands. Through layering, I bring past and present into conversation, exploring what is remembered, what is carried forward, and what remains.
