As a retired insurance broker, Carole is now fully devoted to creative photography. She has studied photography at Palomar College and through extensive in-person and online workshops with Santa Fe Workshops. Her early work focused on documenting scenic locations and the people she encountered, but her practice has evolved toward experimentation and abstraction. She works with in-camera techniques such as intentional camera movement and multiple exposures, often placing objects—including crystals, reflectors, and transparent slides—directly in front of the lens to enhance visual complexity. In post-processing, she incorporates cyanotype elements, resulting in highly original, colorful, and expressive images.
awarded the coveted Margaret Frye Perpetual Award at the Del Mar Fair. Her work has been juried into (s)Light of Hand and Water Worlds at The Photographer's Eye Collective in Escondido, as well as The COAL gallery in Carlsbad, CA.
She uses digital and historical processes and prints her own work.
