Winter Series
Artist Statement
Snow transforms the familiar. It softens buildings, covers forgotten objects and simplifies the landscape into shapes, lines and subtle variations of color. Places I know become quieter and slightly mysterious.
I am drawn to the stillness of winter and to the unexpected details that emerge within it. Snow falling past the window of an old barn suggests memory and the passage of time. A group of abandoned sinks nearly buried in snow becomes surprising and quietly humorous.
Through these photographs, I explore winter as both landscape and experience. The season invites me to slow down, look more carefully and discover how snow can turn the ordinary into something unfamiliar, playful and briefly transformed.
