Water is never still, even when held in a photograph. It shifts between transparency and reflection, surface and depth, order and chance. In this series, I photograph fragments of water and reassemble them into geometric collages. Individual images, each retaining the familiar proportions of a photograph, meet edge to edge to create a larger constructed field. Currents, reflections, bubbles, light, and color move across these boundaries, sometimes aligning and sometimes breaking apart. The grid gives structure to something that resists containment. Water moves through the work as both subject and material—fractured, repeated, interrupted, and re-formed. What begins as observation becomes an abstraction of rhythm and movement, a place where separate moments coexist.Water is familiar to us, yet impossible to fully hold. I return to it for that reason: its ability to remain itself while continually becoming something else.
